Discipleship

Grounding believers in the Word of God — caring for new converts and leading every saint on into sanctification, sound doctrine, and holy, fruitful maturity in Christ.

The Lord did not command us merely to make converts, but to make disciples: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations... Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" (Matt. 28:19-20). The Discipleship ministry exists to take the new-born soul by the hand and ground him in the unchanging Word of God, that he may not be "tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine" (Eph. 4:14), but be rooted, established, and built up in the most holy faith.

Here we feed the lambs and lead the flock on. We "leave the principles of the doctrine of Christ" and "go on unto perfection" (Heb. 6:1) — pressing every believer past the milk into the strong meat of repentance, sanctification as a second work of grace, the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and a holy walk before God. What faithful men receive, they in turn "commit to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also" (2 Tim. 2:2), that sound doctrine may be handed down unbroken from saint to saint.

This ministry serves new converts, restored backsliders, and every hungry soul determined to grow. Through the searching of the Scriptures, prayer, and the fear of the Lord, we labor as Paul labored, "warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus" (Col. 1:28). Come and be discipled — that you may bring forth fruit, and that your fruit may remain.
