Prayer & Intercession

The prayer altar and the company of intercessors who stand in the gap for the church, the sick, and the lost — the engine room where Heaven is moved and the work of God is born in travail.

Every revival, every healing, every soul born into the kingdom of God is first travailed out at the altar of prayer. This ministry is the engine room of Hope for Living Ministries — a consecrated company of intercessors who lay hold of God and will not let Him go. The Lord searched for such, "and I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land" (Ezekiel 22:30). We answer that call, lifting "holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1 Timothy 2:8), making "supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, for all men" (1 Timothy 2:1).

We are a people who tarry. As the disciples waited in the upper chamber until the Holy Ghost fell, so we obey the Master: "tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high" (Luke 24:49). We will not run on the energy of the flesh, but seek the anointing that breaks the yoke. Here souls are wept over, the sick are carried to the throne, and strongholds are torn down by travailing prayer that knows how to groan until Christ be formed.

If you are burdened to pray, this altar is for you — the seasoned warrior and the one just learning to call upon the name of the Lord. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16). Come, stand in the gap. Heaven is waiting on praying hearts.
